Del Bosque: Real Madrid would've won more Champions Leagues with me

Spain manager Vicente del Bosque believes that Real Madrid would have won more Champions League titles had he remained Los Blancos boss.

Del Bosque guided the Spanish giants to two Champions League trophies, two La Liga titles and a UEFA Super Cup win during his four-year spell at the club.

And the 65-year-old says more silverware would have been added to Real's trophy cabinet had he remained on the Bernabeu sidelines.

"It is very difficult to win [the Champions League]," Del Bosque told Telediario.

"We had a lot of luck and some very good players in a favourable period for the club.

"Without being vain or arrogant, if I had continued I believe we would have won more European cups."

Del Bosque's reign at Madrid, from 1999 to 2003, coincided with current boss Zinedine Zidane's playing stint at the club.

The Frenchman's famous strike in the 2002 Champions League final handed Del Bosque his second European title win.
