Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo says he is happy at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu -- and a recent public chat with Paris Saint-Germain coach Laurent Blanc was blown out of proportion by the media -- after another record-breaking performance.
Ronaldo spoke after scoring four times in Madrid's 8-0 Champions League win at home to Malmo on Tuesday evening, a feat which brought him to a record 11 goals in a group stage of the competition.
His first four-goal haul in a European competition was the first time a Madrid player has netted a "poker" since Ferenc Puskas against Feyenoord in 1965.
"I am very happy, it was a good game for the team," Ronaldo told Spanish TV station Mega. "All the players, not just those up front. We knew it was a game we could do well in, by putting on pressure up top we would score.
"On a personal level, I am happy for another record. I don't seek out records, records seek me out."
The goal rush came after what has been an up and down season for the Portuguese -- who was linked heavily with a move to Ligue 1 side PSG when he spoke on the pitch with Blanc after their Champions League meeting at the Bernabeu in early November, and also happily greeted the super-rich club's Qatari owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi in front of reporters at the stadium.
The 30-year-old said he was used to speculation about his future, but was currently planning on staying at Madrid.
"This is speculation, it happens every year, people are used to what happens around Cristiano," Ronaldo said. "But this club has helped me a lot since I arrived. And I am happy here.
"What happened with Blanc is very simple. He is someone who treats you well if you talk with him. If someone from Chelsea, Manchester United or Barcelona is a nice guy, I will speak with him.
"Obviously, it means nothing. I have a contract with Madrid and I will stay here."
The Portuguese has not always had such a happy time during 2015-16 and was even whistled by some of his team's fans during last month's 4-0 home Clasico defeat to Barcelona.
"It is normal to be criticised, at a club like Real Madrid, when things don't go well," he said. "But we improved, five consecutive victories, a good run, we are going well. It is my seventh season here, and I am used to how things happen here. I cannot be all day thinking about what others think of me. It is about doing your work and being relaxed."
Asked about the 2015 Ballon D'Or, where he is nominated but expected to lose out to favourite Lionel Messi, he said he was "not obsessed" with the personal prize, and happy overall with how his season was now going.
"I am not obsessed with that, I am happy with my season, after the problems I had at the start of the season," he said. "Now I have more confidence and the team are helping me a lot."
Under-pressure Madrid coach Rafa Benitez, who defended his side's ability to attack on Tuesday night, was now settling into the job and doing well, Ronaldo said.
"I did not realise, it was a surprise," he said. "I don't know what happened. I don't see the problem, the people act as they wish, but the boss is doing good work, he is still adapting to Real Madrid. He must be given time, in my opinion he is doing well. My relationship with him is good, like all the players."
Ronaldo celebrated his second goal of the night with substitute Denis Cheryshev, who was also whistled by fans at the Bernabeu pregame, having been at the centre of the controversy which saw Madrid eliminated from the Copa del Rey last week.
"It was [Alvaro] Arbeloa's idea," he said. "It seemed to me a normal reaction for a team. It was not planned."
