David De Gea will bounce back for Man United after rough summer - Ramos

Real Madrid's Sergio Ramos has said that David De Gea will bounce back after an unpredictable ending to a summer filled with rumours that the Manchester United goalkeeper would make a move to the Bernabeu.

De Gea looked set to make his dream move to Real from Man United in exchange for cash and fellow goalkeeper Keylor Navas. However, the deal broke down in the final hours of the European window due to mismanaged paperwork, leaving the two club powers pointing fingers at one another over who was to blame.

Ramos, speaking after his arrival at Spain's camp ahead of their upcoming Euro 2016 qualifiers, said that "life goes on" and that his national team teammate will maintain his place as one of the world's best goalkeepers.

"I have not talked to David and do not know his opinion, [but] life goes on," Ramos said . "Nobody has died for this. He must maintain his level, he is one of the best keepers.

"The world of football and signings is like this. Everyone tries to get the most and this is never easy for any player.

"He has had a bumpy summer because he has decided his future and that of his family. But it is something we have to go through at times, everyone has to understand the facts and do their best wherever they are."

Ramos was also rumoured to be heading to Man United this summer, but the centre-back ended up re-signing with Los Blancos as part of a five-year deal that will keep him in Madrid through 2020.

Spain face Slovakia on Sept. 5, and Macedonia on Sept. 8, in a pair of Euro 2016 qualifying matches.
