Rafa Benitez says he's happy with goalkeepers Real Madrid already have

Real Madrid coach Rafa Benitez reiterated that he is very happy with his three goalkeepers despite continued speculation linking Manchester United's David De Gea with the Spanish giants.

Keylor Navas and Kiko Casilla both played well in goal for Los Blancos in their International Champions Cup victory over AC Milan on Thursday in Shanghai. Real won 10-9 on penalties after both sides failed to score in normal time.

Manchester United coach Louis van Gaal admitted De Gea is in a complicated situation at Old Trafford, accepting that the goalkeeper -- under contract with the Red Devils for another season -- wants to leave. The Dutchman added that the player being stuck in limbo is not good for anyone.

Asked about Van Gaal's comments after Thursday's game, Benitez said: "That is a question for Van Gaal and for De Gea. We have a good team and we have to work with them.

"If someone else comes along then we will welcome them but they have to be better than what we have."

Navas has started in all of Real's preseason games and is set to be Benitez's No.1 choice following the departure of veteran keeper Iker Casillas to FC Porto earlier this month.

Casilla, meanwhile, joined Real two weeks ago on a permanent transfer from Espanyol and stole the show against Milan.

A former Real youth team player, Casilla scored Real's last penalty while saving seconds later AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma's spot-kick to hand the Spaniards a 10-9 triumph.

"Keylor played in the first half and Kiko played after the restart," Benitez said. "I had a great goalkeeper in the first half and a really good one in the second half. We have another good goalkeeper [Fernando Pacheco] waiting on the bench."

Benitez refused to comment on his club's transfer policy so far this summer.

"I reiterate what I have said before, it's early days and we have to continue to work," he said."Little by little things will fall into place.

"The talks I have with [Real Madrid general director] Jose Angel Sanchez and the president [Florentino Perez], we keep them to ourselves."

Benitez was satisfied with his team's performance against AC Milan, which completed the club's preseason tour in Australia and China.

Real had beaten Milan's city rivals Inter 3-0 in Guangzhou, China, on Monday.

Los Blancos had previously lost their first preseason game in Melbourne, Australia, in a penalty shootout to Roma after both sides failed to score in open play.

Next they beat Manchester City 4-1 before returning to play in China for the first time in four years.

Against Milan, Benitez welcomed back midfielder Luka Modric and striker Karim Benzema, who recovered from minor injuries and started against the Italians.

"Milan had been here for seven day and logically they had a better rhythm than us," Benitez said. "This game was the last of our tour after six days in China where the team had to deal with humidity, heat and the adversity of playing against a good team."

But the overall assessment is a positive one.

"Considering the work they have done in a tour of these characteristics, the only thing you can do is to praise the players for their attitude, their play and the results," Benitez said. "We still have a lot of work do do but not to concede goals and to see that we give away few goalscoring chances while creating some ourselves, is really positive. The players are the ones that make the difference."

Real are looking to hit back from a disappointing campaign last season, when they failed to win a major trophy and sacked coach Carlo Ancelotti, replacing him last month with Benitez.

"As a coach you given them certain ideas and they pick them up but it's them that know what they have to do," Benitez said. "We have very good players and we need to adapt to them and they need to adapt to us.

"We need to keep improving with those players that have room for improvement. With those that don't need to improve as much, we just need to reinforce the good things that they do and correct the negative ones.

"But I work with the whole team, not just with a starting XI. I want everyone to grow. We know that there are more important players than others in the squad but for me the key is for those who are not as important today to eventually become more important throughout the season."

Benitez believes his side is on the right track to have a strong 2015-16 campaign.

"Our message to the fans is quite clear and the players have proved it," he said. "We are going to work hard, with a lot of will and enthusiasm. We will try to do a good job with common sense and from that, the quality of the players will make the difference."

Real next play in the Audi Cup on Aug. 4 against Tottenham at the Allianz Arena, with a second match against either Bayern Munich or Milan the following day.
