Real Madrid's Carlo Ancelotti not planning on Serie A return

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has admitted it was a difficult decision to leave Italy, but one he does not regret as he rules out returning to Serie A in the near future.

The former AC Milan coach moved to Chelsea in 2009, two years after lifting the Champions League with the Rossoneri for a second time.

He went on to win a Premier League and FA Cup double in his first season with the Blues before lifting the Ligue 1 title with his next club Paris Saint-Germain.

The 55-year-old subsequently led Real Madrid to their long strived-for Decima -- 10th Champions League win.

However, he is coming under pressure at the Spanish club with the Primera Division title slipping away to rivals Barcelona and the successful defence of their Champions League crown dependent on doing something they have not managed in seven attempts since last year's final -- beating Atletico Madrid.

There have consequently been rumours he might return to Italy in the summer, but he has quashed those in an interview on Rai Radio Uno, saying he is happier being away from Serie A and its problems.

"Italian football is still competitive, but the difference is the atmosphere," he said. "The stadiums are always more empty compared to other countries and you notice the violence more in Italy than elsewhere.

"It isn't this which is keeping me away from Italy, though. It's the pleasure of experiencing an adventure abroad and getting to know different sporting cultures."

Ancelotti says the criticism he receives is mainly constructive, or just minor bursts of frustration.

"It's normal to be criticised when you're at a big club, but it never goes beyond a few whistles," he said. "Stuff like offensive banners or players being held hostage by brainless fans are things which do not exist here. In this respect, Real Madrid have done a great job. I hope to continue coaching Real."
