Real Madrid fans set to be banned and fined for kicking Gareth Bale's car

Three Real Madrid fans are set to be fined €3,001 each and banned from attending all games for six months after kicking and punching the cars of Blancos players, including that of Gareth Bale, on the night of the team's 2-1 defeat at Barcelona.

Carlo Ancelotti's side went into Sunday's clash supposedly in crisis, but played well for the first 60 minutes until Luis Suarez's strike turned the game and possibly the Primera Division title race Barca's way.

The Madrid squad flew back to the Spanish capital directly after the game and then went to the club's Valdebebas training ground to collect their cars.

Spanish TV station Cuatro showed footage of the individuals waiting well into the early hours and then aiming insults, kicks and punches as the cars slowed to go through the gates, with special attention given to the vehicles belonging to the apparent scapegoats for the defeat, Bale and Jese Rodriguez.

Even though Madrid vice-captain Sergio Ramos stopped to tell the supporters their behaviour was out of order, the abuse continued with cars driven by, among others, Ancelotti and assistant coach Fernando Hierro being targeted.

Madrid quickly reacted with a club statement saying they had "identified the individuals responsible, one a Real Madrid member, for these aggressive and violent actions against several of our players." The Madrid socio identified then had his membership of the club immediately revoked.

The issue then moved on to the Spanish government's State Commission Against Violence, Racism, Xenophobia and Intolerance in Sport, which deals with incidents in or around La Liga games.

And the body has confirmed in a statement that Madrid had referred the issue to its judgement, and that it was taking serious action.

The statement read: "Punishments of €3,001 are proposed, and six months bans from all sporting facilities are proposed for the three individuals who shouted at and seriously insulted some Real Madrid players and coaches as they left the club's training ground during the night of March 23."
