Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has never scored vs. Liverpool at Anfield

Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo has scored in five of his six appearances against Premier League teams in Europe, but on Wednesday he heads to Anfield which has not been a happy hunting ground personally.

During his spell at Manchester United, the Portugal international scored twice in nine appearances against their arch-rivals, although he never managed the feat away from home.

Below are the five games in which he drew a blank at Anfield.

LIVERPOOL 0-1 MANCHESTER UNITED, January 2005

Ronaldo was withdrawn after 67 minutes to make way for defender John O'Shea after Wes Brown was sent off. Wayne Rooney scored.

LIVERPOOL 0-0 MANCHESTER UNITED, September 2005

Ronaldo last 90 minutes this time but could not help his side break the deadlock.

LIVERPOOL 1-0 MANCHESTER UNITED, February 2006

Ronaldo returned to Anfield the same season in the FA Cup and despite another 90-minute performance his side lost to a Peter Crouch goal.

LIVERPOOL 0-1 MANCHESTER UNITED, MARCH 2007

Played a full match again as O'Shea snatched a last-minute winner after Paul Scholes had been sent off late on.

LIVERPOOL 0-1 MANCHESTER UNITED, December 2007

Carlos Tevez scored the only goal as Ronaldo played his last match at Anfield as injury would prevent him making an appearance in his final season in England the following year.
