Brazilian legend Ronaldinho insists that he is ready to play for "many years" as he quashed rumours of his imminent retirement.
Ronaldinho, 35, signed a two-year deal with Mexican side Queretaro in September 2014 but has attracted more attention for his off-field activities and reports suggested that he was ready to call it a day.
The two-time World Player of the Year held a news conference on Friday to clarify the situation, saying: "We do not think about retirement, I hope to spend many years in football.
"I want to continue until I feel competitive. I will not retire at the end of the season. I'm happy to be back here [in the Mexican capital.]
"We have to think about finishing well this season and then see how we can do even better next."
Queretaro president Joaquin Beltran added: "(Ronaldinho) feels good, he is at his best and we intend him to stay throughout his contract."
