QPR's Sandro not available for selection over work permit issue

QPR midfielder Sandro has been left out of the key relegation clash against Manchester City after a mix-up concerning the expiry date on the Brazilian's UK work permit.

An article in the Sunday Mirror revealed that the 26-year-old was doubtful over a red-tape issue with his visa, and the club have now confirmed that he will not be available for selection until it is resolved.

A statement on the club's official website read: "IN response to an article which was published by today's Sunday Mirror, the club can confirm it was informed by the Home Office on Thursday 7th May that there is an issue with Sandro's UK Residency Visa.

"The club are working with Sandro and the Home Office to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. While this is ongoing, the club have been advised not to select Sandro for match involvement. The club will be making no further comment at this time."

QPR have to beat City to avoid relegation to the Championship.
