Boca Juniors forward Carlos Tevez on Monday laid to rest reports that linked him to West Ham, Napoli or Corinthians after the Argentina Primera Division club were eliminated in the Copa Libertadores semifinal, saying "my goal is to retire at Boca."

Tevez had reportedly demanded £250,000 a week to rejoin Premier League side West Ham United from Boca Juniors. Last week he was also linked to both Napoli and Inter Milan along with a third report that insisted he would return to Brazil side Corinthians.

Atlanta United signs Tito Villalba from Argentina side San Lorenzo

Atlanta United has signed winger Hector "Tito" Villalba from Argentina league side San Lorenzo as the Major League Soccer team's first young designated player ahead of its inaugural season.

The compact, explosive winger will spend the rest of 2016 on loan before joining the expansion team for the preseason in 2017. The 21-year-old is likely headed out on loan to Liga MX club Tijuana, according to a report on MLSsoccer.com.

Argentina referees protest lack of pay with work stoppage - union chief

The Argentina officials union claim that federation woes have meant they are not being paid.

Argentina officials union director Guillermo Marconi has said the league referees have not been paid by the Argentina Football Federation and would go on a 48-hour strike.

Argentina federation president Luis Segura -- a member of FIFA's ruling council -- was charged last month with fraud related to TV broadcasting rights and is currently out of power after FIFA named a "normalisation committee" to run daily affairs. Elections must be organised by July 2017.
