Cristiano Ronaldo may have missed a penalty in the 1-0 friendly defeat to Bulgaria, but Portugal coach Fernando Santos is not worried by his form.
Ronaldo, 31, saw his effort saved by Vladislav Stoyanov as Marcelinho capitalised on an error from Pepe to give Bulgaria a shock win on Friday night. But Santos insists that his star is happy that his side are creating chances.
"In the national team, and the clubs where he's been, Cristiano has always been a reference -- always worth 40, 50 goals per season," Santos told a news conference.
"He didn't score [against Bulgaria] but he's reserving his goals for the Euros.
"We created many chances but we couldn't score. If we didn't create then, yes, I would be apprehensive."
Meanwhile, Nani has thanked the Real Madrid star for helping him settle in England.
Nani joined Ronaldo at Manchester United in July 2007 and went on to make almost 150 league appearances at Old Trafford.
"I lived in his house to begin with -- me, Ronaldo and Anderson," said Nani, who now plays for Fenerbahce. "That was very important for us, because we were so young and he [Ronaldo] had all the experience.
"He knew how to deal with everything [in England]; the streets, the cameras, the driving rules, because it's so different in England compared with Portugal.
"He helped a lot and gave me a lot of advice in training. He was very important and I was so happy about that; to have a teammate from my own country who gave us that little bit of help to make us that little bit more confident."
