Belgians Fellaini, Dembele highlight big arrivals to Chinese Super League

The winter transfer window has closed just ahead of the new 2019 Chinese Super League season, and ESPN FC has the lowdown on the big moves.

Marouane Fellaini may have split the opinions of Manchester United fans since signing for the European giants in 2013, but most would probably be surprised to see the midfielder arrive in China in the past few weeks. The Belgian has left Manchester for the eastern industrial city of Jinan to join Shandong Luneng for an undisclosed fee said to be around €12...

Tottenham's Mousa Dembele joins Guangzhou R&F in £9m deal

Mousa Dembele has completed his move to Chinese Super League club Guangzhou R&F, with sources telling ESPN FC that Tottenham have banked £9 milllion from the sale.

Dembele, who joined Spurs from Fulham in 2012 and made 250 appearances for the club in all competitions, was entering the last six months of his contract so could have left for free in the summer.

The 31-year-old's last appearance for Spurs came against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League in November and ended after seven...

Premier League will lose its most unique player when Mousa Dembele leaves Tottenham

Dembele's skills as a disruptive, creative and aggressive central midfielder probably won't be found again.
Dembele's skills as a disruptive, creative and aggressive central midfielder probably won't be found in the same player again.

Promising young footballers are regularly compared to a current or former great and it's usually based upon a couple of attributes: the new Thierry Henry, the new Lionel Messi, the new Ronaldo. They rarely live up to the billing, but it's a useful shortcut for describing their style. It's difficult, though, to imagine anyone being an accurate "new Mousa Dembele" -- not because the Belgian was so magnificent that no one could possibly come close, but because Dembele is unlike anyone else before...

Mousa Dembele's ankle injury has Mauricio Pochettino 'a little bit worried'

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino admits he is concerned by Mousa Dembele's "very painful" ankle injury after losing another central midfielder.

Spurs were already missing Eric Dier and Victor Wanyama when they arrived to face Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday, and Dembele then limped off in the opening moments of the 3-2 victory.

"We don't know [how bad it is] but we are a little bit worried," said Pochettino. "We'll see. I don't want to say anything because we need to assess him tomorrow...

Tottenham facing injury crisis ahead of Barcelona Champions League game

Tottenham are facing a number of injury worries ahead of their Champions League game against Barcelona with Christian Eriksen, Jan Vertonghen, Mousa Dembele and Serge Aurier all missing training on Tuesday.

Dele Alli and Michel Vorm are already ruled out due to hamstring and knee injuries respectively, while Eriksen, who was unable to face Huddersfield on Saturday due to an abdomen problem, did not recover in time to train ahead of Wednesday's match.

Vorm will return to training later in the...

Mousa Dembele 4/10 as Tottenham collapse to defeat at Watford

Things were looking pretty rosy for Tottenham when they took the lead at Vicarage Road, with Lucas Moura forcing an own goal from Abdoulaye Doucoure early in the second half.

As they passed the hour mark, Spurs were on course for an 100 percent record after four matches, which would have equalled their best-ever start to a Premier League campaign and put them alongside Liverpool and Chelsea at the top of the table.

However, they threw it all away. As Watford upped the ante, Spurs seemed powerless...
