DaMarcus Beasley calls D.C. United's temporary venue 'unacceptable' for MLS

Second-half goals from Darren Mattocks and Luciano Acosta offset the Dynamo's early lead in D.C.'s home-opener at Maryland SoccerPlex.

Houston Dynamo defender DaMarcus Beasley said it was "unacceptable" for MLS to play a game at the Maryland SoccerPlex after his team settled for a 2-2 draw with D.C. United there on Saturday.

D.C. United chose to host the game at the SoccerPlex because its new stadium, Audi Field, will not open until this summer. But Beasley, an MLS veteran and a longtime member of the United States national team, was not impressed with the facilities.

"Just when I thought MLS was getting better in every aspect,...

Houston Dynamo re-sign U.S. defender DaMarcus Beasley

DaMarcus Beasley will be back with the Dynamo in 2018.

The Houston Dynamo have re-signed U.S. international defender DaMarcus Beasley, the club announced on Thursday.

"We are extremely pleased to have DaMarcus return to the Houston Dynamo," Houston general manager Matt Jordan said of the signing.

"He is a true professional both on and off the field and an important leader in our group. It was important to bring him back as we look to build on the strong foundation we've built in preparation for the 2018 season."

Beasley, 35, joined the Dynamo from Mexican...

Dynamo's DaMarcus Beasley, Seattle Sounders win MLS Fair Play awards

Houston Dynamo defender DaMarcus Beasley won the MLS Fair Play Award on Tuesday, while the Seattle Sounders won the team award.

Beasley only committed .54 fouls per game in 24 appearances, 22 of them starts, and did not receive a single yellow or red card all season.

The Sounders had the fewest disciplinary points, which are tallied for fouls, cards and postmatch disciplinary actions. Seattle had 14.45 points per game, just edging Toronto FC's 14.91 points.

Houston and Seattle will meet in the Western...

U.S. Hot List: Christian Pulisic in top form, Tim Howard returns in style

After being sidelined with a serious heart condition, Clint Dempsey returned to the field, and had an immediate impact.

The first part of Bruce Arena's selection process for a critical World Cup qualifier against Honduras on March 24 and another in Panama City four days later is nearly complete, with the U.S. coach to name his roster for both games Wednesday afternoon.

The second part, of course, requires Arena to settle on a lineup for the match against Los Catrachos in San Jose, California. With just one more weekend of club games left for him to assess the sharpness of his players, here's a look at how 14 candidates...

DaMarcus Beasley inks new deal to stay with Houston Dynamo

Veteran defender DaMarcus Beasley signed a new contract with the Houston Dynamo on Friday.

Beasley, 34, was a free agent this offseason but had long been negotiating a return to Houston, where he has played for the last two and a half seasons.

Dynamo general manager Matt Jordan told the Houston Chronicle that Beasley's deal was for one season. Beasley made $750,000 last season, though terms of the new deal were not disclosed.

"We are extremely pleased to announce the return of DaMarcus to the Houston...

Busy Houston Dynamo seeking No. 10 amid talks with DaMarcus Beasley

Take a look at the top five goals from MLS players who've been called in to this month's US national team camp.

The Houston Dynamo are not done making moves despite already completing a number of changes to the squad this offseason.

The team is still looking for a No. 10 to run the midfield while also continuing to negotiate with U.S. defender DaMarcus Beasley.

"It is not easy to get a No. 10 because the ones that we like and the ones we think can fit in with us, they are not available or we don't have enough [money]," new coach Wilmer Cabrera told the Houston Chronicle.

"So we have Plan B. Within Plan B we...
