Karim Benzema scores two more, Raphael Varane stands tall as Madrid reach Copa semis

Real Madrid players celebrate after a Karim Benzema goal in the Copa del Rey against Girona.
Karim Benzema's brace gave him five goals in his last three games and 15 for the season, three more than he had all of last campaign

Real Madrid eased into the Copa del Rey semi-finals with two sweet Karim Benzema strikes setting up a 3-1 win on the night and 7-3 progression on aggregate.

Madrid survived Girona's fast start and matched their opponents' intensity. Second, two further pieces of evidence that Benzema is the most in-form No. 9 around at the moment secured passage to the last four. Marcos Llorente's performance and goal in midfield was another big plus. Coach Santiago Solari now has almost a full squad...

Llorente 8/10 as Real Madrid cruise past Al-Ain, win Club World Cup

Llorente, right, was exceptional in midfield as Real completed a comfortable victory over Al-Ain.

Real Madrid won a third consecutive Club World Cup trophy thanks to a 4-1 victory over hosts Al-Ain in Saturday's final in Abu Dhabi, with Los Blancos' goals coming from Luka Modric, Marcos Llorente, Sergio Ramos and a Yahia Nader own goal, while Tsukasa Shiotani got Al-Ain's late consolation.

A fourth CWC in this current format means Madrid have won this tournament in its current format more than any other club -- most important, they've won it more than La Liga rivals Barcelona....

Real Madrid's Marcos Llorente wants regular football or a transfer - sources

Is Eden Hazard trying to engineer a move to Real Madrid and become the next Galactico?

Real Madrid midfielder Marcos Llorente will ask for a move away in January if he is not still playing regularly, sources close to the player have told ESPN FC.

Despite having started each of Madrid's last six games while first choice holding midfielder Casemiro was out injured, Llorente has not changed his mind over his need for regular first-team football between now and the end of the campaign.

He barely featured during the first four months of 2018-19, and was subsequently linked with a move...

Real's "B squad" players like Theo Hernandez might not make the cut

Hernandez was supposed to be the next great full-back but has struggled mightily in Madrid.

"Batacazo!" screamed the pro-Madrid media on Thursday morning after Real Madrid's B team failed to carve out a result against Sevilla in the Sanchez Pizjuan, losing 3-2. That can be translated in several ways, but "wallop!" is perhaps the most appropriate after another damning piece of evidence that the Bernabeu's transfer policy last summer was fatally flawed.

Madrid pocketed €87.5 million in transfer business but that is a drop in the ocean considering it arguably cost the reigning champions...

Gareth Bale, Isco take a step back in sluggish Real Madrid defeat to Espanyol

Real Madrid's first loss in eight in La Liga against a struggling Espanyol side leaves Zinedine Zidane with plenty to ponder after it looked like they had turned a corner this year. The scoreline is one thing but the performance and lack of any purpose in the final third was particularly noticeable against a side they rarely have to break a sweat to beat.

The first half was very similar to the Alaves game at the weekend but on that occasion, Los Blancos found inspiration in Cristiano Ronaldo and...

Ronaldo 8/10, tallies two goals as rotated Madrid XI thrash Sevilla

Real Madrid thrashed Sevilla 5-0, thanks to a spectacular first-half showing at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Nacho opened the scoring in the third minute before Cristiano Ronaldo celebrated winning a fifth Ballon d'Or with a neatly taken goal. A clear handball by Jesus Navas granted the Portugal international the chance to double his tally from the penalty spot after 31 minutes. Toni Kroos and Achraf Hakimi both scored their first goals of the season to complete a five-star first half.

From there,...
