Leeds United announce spate of signings to bolster squad

Rob Green is one of six new signings to join Leeds United so far this summer.

Leeds United have announced a further two signings as part of their flurry of transfer activity, with former England international Rob Green among those moving to Elland Road.

England under-21 midfielder Matt Grimes became the fifth addition, joining on a season-long loan from Swansea, where he worked with new Leeds manager Garry Monk.

Grimes, 20, who made his Premier League debut for Swansea in April 2015, has more recently spent time on loan at Blackburn Rovers, making 12 league appearances.

England under-21s call up Aarons, Hayden, Grimes for Euro qualifiers

England U-21s boss Gareth Southgate has handed debut call ups to three players ahead of his team's European Championship qualifier in Switzerland.

Newcastle winger Rolando Aarons, Hull's Arsenal loanee Isaac Hayden and Blackburn midfielder Matt Grimes, on loan from Swansea, have all been included for next week's game in Thun.

Leicester's uncapped duo Demarai Gray and Ben Chilwell are also included, with both having been called up before, along with Chelsea's Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Southampton midfielder...


Swansea City sign Matt Grimes from Exeter City

Swansea City have confirmed the signing of midfielder Matt Grimes from League Two side Exeter City.

Swansea have not announced the fee for Grimes, who has signed a four-and-a-half-year deal, but sources had told ESPN FC earlier this week that the Premier League club were set to pay 1.75 million pounds.

Swansea have agreed a deal to sign highly rated Exeter midfielder Matt Grimes, sources have told ESPN FC.

Grimes is expected to undergo a medical in South Wales on Wednesday morning after agreeing a fee of 1.75 million pounds with League Two side Exeter.

Swansea have beaten off a host of Premier League rivals, including Liverpool and Sunderland, to land the talented teenager.

Grimes has come through Exeter's youth ranks and has been earning rave reviews since breaking into the team last season.
