Barcelona's Iniesta, Dembele, Rafinha and Mascherano heading for returns

Andres Iniesta, Ousmane Dembele, Rafinha and Javier Mascherano all trained on Friday as Barcelona's injury problems began to ease.

The four were involved in the first part of the training session ahead of Sunday's trip to Villarreal.

However, only Iniesta is likely to be passed fit for the game at the Estadio de la Ceramica.

He was taken off with a calf injury in last weekend's draw with Celta Vigo and sat out the midweek win over Sporting Lisbon, but should be available this weekend.

Barcelona's Rafinha set for longer spell out after further surgery on knee

ESPN FC's Barcelona correspondent Samuel Marsden checks in from the Camp Nou after the club decided to play behind closed doors amid political tension in Catalonia.

Barcelona midfielder Rafinha's return to action has been further delayed after he was forced to undergo a second operation over the weekend.

Rafinha, 24, has been out of action since April when he damaged the meniscus in his right knee in Barca's La Liga win against Granada.

After undergoing a successful operation at the time, the Brazil international was expected to be back within five months.

However, concerns had grown in recent weeks after he was unable to return to training as planned in September...

AC Milan general manager cools links with Barcelona's Rafinha

AC Milan general manager Marco Fassone has played down speculation linking his club with a move for Barcelona midfielder Rafinha, saying their spending this summer is over unless somebody leaves.

There were reports in Spain and Italy on Thursday that Rafinha, 24, was set to become Milan's 12th signing this summer, but Fassone said: "We're being linked with some really good players, but there's not been any contact with Barcelona for him.

"With the arrival of [Nikola] Kalinic, we're pretty much complete....

Naturally, all the focus is on whom Barcelona will sign this summer, but before they can strengthen their squad, they will need to rid themselves of some players first.
