Watford's Roberto Pereyra has no damage to knee

Watford have been boosted by the news Roberto Pereyra will not be sidelined for a prolonged period.

The Argentine playmaker limped off during last weekend's 4-2 defeat at Chelsea amid fears he had injured the knee he required surgery on last year.

However, the Hornets were relieved to hear Pereyra had sustained no damage to the knee.

He will miss Saturday's visit of Stoke due to a hamstring niggle but could return against Everton the following weekend.

Watford 'not sure' on knee injury to Roberto Pereyra

Watford coach Walter Mazzarri has doubts over Roberto Pereyra's fitness after the midfielder suffered an injury in Wednesday's defeat to Manchester City.

Pereyra appeared to suffer a knee injury early in the game but tried to play on before eventually leaving the pitch in the 30th minute.

Mazzarri suggested it could be the latest in a series of serious injuries for the Hornets.

Younes Kaboul completes move from Sunderland to Watford

Despite defeat, Younes Kaboul was strong in defence for Sunderland.

Watford have completed the signing of defender Younes Kaboul from Sunderland.

The 30-year-old centre-back has signed a three-year contract after the Frenchman asked to leave the Wearside club due to personal reasons.

"I'm very happy and delighted to be a part of Watford Football Club, and I'm looking forward to the season," he told watfordfc.com. mfl

Kaboul played an integral role in helping the Black Cats avoid relegation, following last year's summer move from fellow Premier League club Tottenham.

Sunderland defender Younes Kaboul and Juventus midfielder Roberto Pereyra are undergoing medicals at Watford on Friday, manager Walter Mazzarri has confirmed.
