Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has taken team to next level - Kelly

Former Liverpool defender Martin Kelly believes Jurgen Klopp has taken Liverpool to the "next level."

Kelly, preparing to return to Anfield with Crystal Palace at the weekend, came through the ranks at Liverpool's Kirkby academy and made 62 first-team appearances before joining Palace in 2014.

He said he had been impressed by what he had seen since Klopp took over in October 2015 and told the official Liverpool website: "I think you can see the change Klopp's made.

"He's taken the team and the brand...

Sam Allardyce, Crystal Palace have safety in sight as they host Burnley

Disappointment for Crystal Palace fans has come in many guises in the last year. Whether it's the disappointment of losing the FA Cup Final, or the disappointment of repeated defeats, managerial failings, subsequent sackings, home form, away form or just the general sense around the club, Palace fans have felt them all.

It's a sign of the changes seen at Selhurst Park that Wednesday's defeat to Tottenham Hotspur caused some disappointment among fans. Just two months ago, few fans would...

Defence struggles as Crystal Palace suffer FA Cup exit vs. Man City

Crystal Palace were knocked out of the FA Cup -- a competition in which they reached the final of last season -- by Pep Guardiola's Manchester City by a score of 3-0. Palace's performance was far from shameful but lacked the cutting edge necessary against a club of City's stature. While referee Mike Jones could and should have sent Yaya Toure off in the latter stages of the first half, Palace were again bitten by defensive indifference and offensive profligacy.

FA Cup poses a dilemma for Allardyce, relegation-threatened Crystal Palace

Sam Allardyce needs to choose his side wisely vs. Man City as he balances an FA Cup run and a relegation scrap.

An FA Cup run is not a priority for Sam Allardyce, and given the form Crystal Palace are currently suffering, it's completely understandable. There is however a wistful sense among fans that, after getting a taste of the excitement that a run to the final can bring, it's a shame to feel so indifferent about the club's progression in the competition. That's what a relegation battle can provide.

Palace fans didn't expect last season's run to the final. Few would have predicted the wins at...

Pardew, Palace need to replicate Southampton plan vs. Hull

Alan Pardew's job is safe. So says Steve Parish, Crystal Palace's chairman, who following the club's first win in over two months spoke with Jim White at talkSPORT about the beleaguered manager's role. But how safe is the job? What if a defeat at Hull City is followed by defeats to Chelsea and Manchester United?

Football management is a perilous job. A hero one year can be the villain the next. A FA Cup Final appearance can be lauded as an indicator of progress in one breath, while the subsequent...

Crystal Palace's once-proud back line now struggling for confidence

If there's an overriding lesson to be learned from Crystal Palace's defeat to Swansea, it's that even a team with quality players can be affected by a loss of confidence, and that reduced confidence can have a viciously recurring theme. As defeats have piled up, so has the pressure on the players tasked with turning that form around.

Palace's players repeatedly lost their focus last week, especially defensively but also in terms of doing the basics. While Wilfried Zaha put Palace in the lead...
