Bankrupt Parma docked an additional four points in Serie A

Bankrupt Parma have been docked a further four points for breaching financial regulations and stand on the brink of relegation to Serie B.

The Italian Football Federation announced the new sanction on Thursday, having already docked the club three points earlier in the season.

The decision leaves Parma with only 12 points from 30 matches this season despite their shock 1-0 win over Serie A leaders Juventus on Saturday. That leaves them 17 points shy of 17th-placed Atalanta with eight matches to go.

The FIGC also announced that former club president Giampietro Manenti and director Pietro Leonardi have been banned for six months.

Last month, Parma was declared bankrupt with debts of more than €200 million. Also Thursday, former Parma owner Giampietro Manenti and ex-sporting director Pietro Leonardi were each handed six-month bans from football.

Parma's players have still not been paid all season, but the team managed to beat Serie A leaders Juventus 1-0 on Saturday.
