Cassano bust-up talk played down

Parma coach Roberto Donadoni has played down reports of a dressing-room bust-up involving Antonio Cassano last Thursday.

Cassano, 32, was left out of the side's friendly win over Carpi at the weekend amid rumours he had had an argument with Donadoni, his teammates and general manager Pietro Leonardi.

According to reports, the Italy international had already started arguing with teammates during Thursday's training session. Donadoni was unable to placate him and the argument continued into the dressing room.

However, none of that actually happened, according to the Parma boss and some of Cassano's teammates, who have taken to Twitter to put the record straight.

"I don't recall any outburst from Antonio," Donadoni is quoted as saying by La Gazzetta dello Sport after a 1-1 draw with Carpi. "Leonardi will explain matters a little better during the week.

"I don't know where this kind of information leaks from, but in any case, it's only right that what happens in the dressing room, be it positive or negative, remains in the dressing room."

Parma defender Alessandro Lucarelli, meanwhile, wrote on Twitter: "Given what has been written in the papers today, and on behalf of the entire squad, I can categorically deny there being any kind of argument between Cassano and his teammates."

Forward Jonathan Biabiany added on Twitter: "Cassano did not argue with any teammate."
