Mbappe, Pogba lead tributes to Notre Dame after major fire at Paris cathedral

Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar joined France internationals Kylian Mbappe and Paul Pogba in paying their respects to Notre Dame cathedral after the 850-year-old Parisian landmark was partially destroyed by a fire on Monday night.

Firefighters managed to control the blaze after nine hours and were able to save the cathedral's main stone structure, but the spire and roof were destroyed.

French President Emmanuel Macron has vowed that the cathedral will be rebuilt while the billionaire owner of Ligue 1 side Rennes, Francois-Henri Pinault, said his family has pledged €100 million towards the restoration effort.

PSG later released a statement that said they have "already started to bring together all its key stakeholders, main partners and huge community of fans both in Paris and abroad, aiming to start or participate in a series of initiatives such as fundraising events that will be part of the tremendous campaign to rebuild the cathedral in the following years."

As images of the fire spread around the world, PSG stars and French World Cup winners posted their tributes. Here's what they had to say.
