PARIS -- Paris Saint-Germain coach Unai Emery has rejected the opportunity to clarify whether Neymar is the club's new full-time penalty taker instead of Edinson Cavani in the wake of the club's 8-0 win over Dijon in Ligue 1 on Wednesday.
Neymar's penalty completed the scoring late on at Parc des Princes, while Cavani remains one goal away from a new all-time PSG record of 157, overtaking Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
"I will not speak outside the dressing room about things that go on inside it," Emery said ahead of Sunday's trip to Lyon. "The players each have a role.
"The penalty taking hierarchy is clear but I prefer not to talk about it."
Regarding Cavani's record, Emery admitted he is aware of it but explained that it is something he and the players do not discuss together.
"We only talk about collective statistics when preparing for matches," he said. "Individual statistics help the team and are good.
"However, they [individual statistics] are never talked about [between players]."
Emery highlighted the Uruguayan's positive attitude towards the collective and emphasised the strong sense of unity within the dressing room.
"Edinson is a player who has developed," Emery said. "He has grown and he is happy here. The squad, at present, is strong. He thinks with a collective spirit.
"All of the players are together with a collective mindset. Today, we are focused on Sunday's match in Lyon and everything that happened on Wednesday was positive.
"The dressing room is strong -- we are very motivated for the end of the season."
The PSG boss cited Cavani as one of the senior figures in the dressing room because of his long-standing association with PSG and the former Sevilla coach explained the dynamics of his squad.
"Edinson is one of the longest-serving players in the squad, along with Thiago [Silva], Javier [Pastore] and Lucas [Moura]," said Emery. "When he renewed his contract last year, that showed that he is happy and involved.
"It is normal to have a few groups [in the dressing room] and that each group is based around nationality. The first language in the dressing room is French. Individually, I can speak in Spanish or in French but I speak with the squad in French.
"Edinson speaks good French and is very well integrated. Everybody has their own personality."
When questioned on his future because his contract will expire at the end of the season, Emery insisted he is solely concentrating on what is going on at this moment in time.
"I am living in the now," Emery added. "I am making the most of each moment. I am not thinking about the future.
"I am very happy here because it is a personal challenge. I am focused on my daily tasks with PSG. Every match at Parc des Princes is significant and I want to make the most of them. That is my objective.
"Right now, I want to achieve great things here in Paris -- I am relaxed."
