Paris Saint-Germain coach Unai Emery praised Neymar's display in the Ligue 1 leaders' 4-1-- win at Rennes on Saturday after he scored two goals and assisted another two.
Neymar, who recently returned from a trip back to his native Brazil to deal with a family issue, was superb at Roazhon Park and his understanding with Kylian Mbappe -- who also scored one and set two up -- is thriving.
Speaking after the final whistle, Emery expressed his delight at Neymar, Mbappe and Edinson Cavani's contributions in a self-sufficient display from the front three but also acknowledged that there is work to do in defence after conceding a sloppy goal.
"When Neymar provides solutions like that on the pitch, of course it is good for the team -- and for all those who love football," Emery said. "He showed the full range of his talent this evening and was very good tactically, as well as the way he helped us to penetrate.
"Our three attackers all scored and they provided their own assists too -- it was a very positive display.
"We also conceded a goal, which we have to try and put right."
Goalkeeper Alphonse Areola was helpless to prevent PSG from conceding their 12th goal in nine matches across all competitions but he did still make a few useful contributions and was happy with the team's mentality in Rennes.
"When we play like that and when we are on our game, we are very difficult to handle," he told Canal+. "We remained disciplined and focused, even in the second half when Rennes were in a more dominant frame of mind.
"After they pulled one back, we were able to pick ourselves up and push on. We were on fire up front, we now have to be more solid defensively for things to be even better."
Stand-in captain Marquinhos was not at his best in Rennes and saw central defensive partner Presnel Kimpembe sent off towards the end of the match but was still pleased to emerge with all three points from such a tricky fixture.
"We played well," he said. "We know that away matches are always difficult but we played with style from the start of the game.
"Everyone saw that we wanted to win this evening. We managed to score twice in the first half and we handled Rennes' attacks well. We managed to score two more goals and the match was over.
"The PSG philosophy is to attack. When we push, we can make the difference at any time."
PSG have Caen left to face next Wednesday before Ligue 1 action is over for 2017 and after that, Emery and his players will head to Doha, Qatar, to fulfil sponsorship obligations before finally joining their families for some time off over the winter break.
