Kylian Mbappe set to start vs. Monaco as PSG keep same squad

MONACO -- Kylian Mbappe is likely to start on his return to Stade Louis II to face his parent club AS Monaco on Sunday after being named in the Paris Saint-Germain squad.

The France international is currently on loan in the capital from the Principality outfit, but that move will be made permanent at the end of the season for €180 million as long as the Ligue 1 giants avoid improbable relegation from the French top flight.

Mbappe, 18, who scored 15 goals and provided eight assists from 29 appearances in Le Championnat alone last campaign has four goals and three assists from nine league outings so far with Les Parisiens and will hope to add to that tally against Leonardo Jardim's Monaco side.

The teenage sensation burst onto the scene with Les Monegasques in spectacular fashion last term and featured when the teams last met in the French season-opening Trophee des Champions in Morocco -- though this weekend will be his first appearance as an opponent at Stade Louis II.

Brazilian superstar Neymar is also in the travelling party, along with Edinson Cavani and former Monaco man Layvin Kurzawa.

In other team news, Unai Emery has named the same squad for the trip to Le Rocher as the one he picked to face Celtic in the Champions League in midweek. Thiago Motta is out as he continues to recover from a knee operation, while Lucas Moura and Christopher Nkunku have been left out altogether.

Hatem Ben Arfa was discarded once again and knows that Emery does not count on him for the future and that sporting director Antero Henrique is desperate to move him on. In addition to Nkunku, youth academy graduates Alec Georgen and Remy Descamps have been left with the reserves.
