Julian Draxler on way to becoming world class at PSG - Valerien Ismael

Wolfsburg coach Valerien Ismael has said his former player Julian Draxler has made strides towards fulfilling his true potential since joining Paris Saint-Germain in January.

Draxler has been an immediate hit in Ligue 1 since leaving Wolfsburg, and Ismael told kicker he "knew the French league would be a great fit for him."

The Germany international scored once in PSG's 4-0 Champions League demolition of Barcelona on Tuesday, and Ismael added: "It is nice that he can perform at this level now as well.

"He already showed here that he can do it.

"He was under immense pressure and was crucial in the two final matches before the winter break.

"He is a player who can make the difference -- he is on his way to becoming world class."

Draxler, 23, has said he is delighted that he opted to join PSG and recently told Die Welt: "Since my first day in Paris, I have been fully happy.

"After a difficult spell at Wolfsburg, I have started again from scratch.

"Paris is a fascinating city and this club is perfectly organised. In joining PSG, I made the best possible decision."

Draxler and his team play Toulouse at home in Ligue 1 on Sunday.
