Blaise Matuidi has opened contract talks with PSG - Mino Raiola

Mino Raiola has revealed talks are underway with Paris Saint-Germain regarding the future of midfielder Blaise Matuidi, and the France international's agent thinks his client will ultimately remain with the Ligue 1 giants.

Matuidi, 29, admitted after the summer transfer window had closed that he wanted to leave PSG but was not unhappy at the capital club.

Raiola then poured fuel on the flames by stating he would move the former Saint-Etienne and Toulouse man from the French champions amid interest from Juventus.

However, the 49-year-old Italian's tune has changed recently and he has confirmed talks are underway with PSG.

"Things are advancing naturally," Raiola is quoted as telling Le Parisien. "We are in discussions with the club in a very positive manner. I think that Blaise will stay with PSG."

Le Parisien's report added that Matuidi was seen speaking with PSG CEO and chairman Nasser Al Khelaifi before training, and that one of the Qatari supremo's reasons for attending the session was to speak with the player about the potential new deal.

Matuidi initially found life difficult under new coach Unai Emery this season but has since convinced the Spaniard of his credentials and become a regular in the Basque tactician's starting XIs.
