PSG's Patrick Kluivert and Thiago Silva angry after Montpellier defeat

Paris Saint-Germain director of football Patrick Kluivert and captain Thiago Silva reacted angrily after the French champions lost 3-0 at Montpellier on Saturday, missing the opportunity to go top of Ligue 1.

PSG could have gone ahead of Monaco and Nice at the summit, but the defeat keeps them in third place.

Kluivert told journalists after the game: "I cannot say everything I am thinking. It is not a question of the formation -- we have won matches playing 4-3-3 this season.

"There are important players who were not at 100 percent. The goals [Montpellier] scored were beautiful. When the players are not at 100 percent, though, it is always going to be difficult.

"The players were motivated but did not take the chances that were created and the match became difficult. Montpellier killed us in the transitions."

Kluivert said PSG needed to recover in time for Tuesday's game against Ludogorets Razgrad in the Champions League as they look to top Group A ahead of Arsenal.

"We will look back at the match and look at what we must improve," he added.

"Tuesday will be a different game and we must be ready to finish top. This is not a relapse. It happens, it is football. It is a pity. It is a tough defeat."

Silva said his team "did not deserve to win this game."

"It was inexplicable," he said. "We were poor. Montpellier deserved to win.

"This defeat hurts because of the manner of it. We must not let our heads drop, though. We must move forward. We have a very big game coming up at home on Tuesday."

Next week is a key spell for PSG, with the game against Ludogorets followed by a Ligue 1 clash against Nice on Sunday.
