Paris Saint-Germain boss Unai Emery not worried over Thiago Silva contract

Paris Saint-Germain coach Unai Emery has said speculation surrounding the future of captain Thiago Silva is "normal."

Silva has yet to agree a contract extension with the French champions and has been linked with both Chelsea and Juventus.

But Emery said he was focusing firmly on Sunday's visit of old rivals Marseille in Ligue 1, telling his prematch news conference: "The most important thing is the game.

"The [contractual] situation of players is the club's responsibility, not mine. Rumours like this are normal. A club like PSG gets linked with a lot of transfer targets.

"For me, the most important thing is to have the players concentrated. They are professionals, and they are prepared to face Marseille."

Silva and his teammates will be looking to preserve an unbeaten record against Marseille that goes back to 2011. And they will be hoping for further inspiration from in-form Lucas Moura, who has five Ligue 1 goals in nine appearances so far.

"I am waiting for other players to progress at the same pace as him," Emery said. "He works well and he is starting to score regularly.

"[Angel] Di Maria has also started to score now, so it is a good thing. I want other players to do what Lucas is doing."

Emery said new Marseille coach Rudi Garcia "is different -- a new personality" and added: "The rivalry? It is history first and then there is the media.

"We are obliged to win Le Classique by the supporters but also by ourselves. It is good to have a special atmosphere, an alchemy between the public and the players."
