Hatem Ben Arfa in Paris Saint-Germain squad against Bordeaux

Hatem Ben Arfa is back in the Paris Saint-Germain squad to face Girondins de Bordeaux in Ligue 1 on Saturday after missing the last five matches.

The France international was left out by coach Unai Emery for the games against Arsenal, Caen, Dijon and Toulouse but then missed Wednesday's trip to face Ludogorets through injury when he had been expected to feature in the group.

Emery has recalled Ben Arfa after challenging the player to get into better physical condition and the Spaniard was pleased with what he has seen from the mercurial attacking talent in training lately.

"Ben Arfa trained well yesterday," Emery revealed at his pre-Bordeaux news conference on Friday. "In order to be at his best, proper preparation is important. He is a player like any other. It is important that he has trained when he has not played. He has often trained alone and that is the way to go."

Midfielder Adrien Rabiot was part of the squad that travelled to Bulgaria in midweek, but he ultimately did not make the matchday group because of a knock that he had been carrying since Toulouse. The France under-21 international is in the squad again but this time he is expected to feature.

PSG will be without right-back Serge Aurier against Bordeaux. The Ivory Coast international who hit the headlines for the wrong reasons earlier in the week is suspended after his red card in last Friday's 2-0 defeat away at Toulouse.

Emery has also been deprived of the services of Jese Rodriguez, Javier Pastore and Presnel Kimpembe.

The Spanish left-winger missed Ludogorets with a knee knock, and the Basque tactician admitted his participation was in doubt in his news conference, but playmaker Pastore and defender Kimpembe's absences were unexpected.

Asked about Jese, Ben Arfa and the other summer recruits, Emery said he was "pleased" by the business done and is in the process of "creating a team."

"They still need to adapt a bit more and to work in order to be ready to play," Emery said. "They have worked with respect for the squad and for the staff.

"However, every player is the same. Some have been here for a long time and some are more recent. Some have played more than others but I am here to help everybody. Some have adjusted faster than others but that is normal."
