Paris Saint-Germain to value new QTA contract at €175m - report

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly set to value their sponsorship contract with Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) at €175 million when they submit their 2016-17 season budget, just over two years after UEFA ruled it was worth only €100m.

PSG -- punished for breaching financial fair play rules in 2014 -- fell foul of European football's governing body when stating that the deal with QTA was worth €200m, with UEFA putting it at half that amount.

According to Le Parisien on Wednesday, PSG will try again to include a contract with QTA in their next budget but this time to the tune of €175m.

The proposed figure would represent approximately 30 percent of the capital club's entire 2016-17 budget, which is estimated to be between €550m and €560m.

Should UEFA approve the sponsorship deal, it would be by far the Ligue 1 giants' greatest source of revenue.

The difference between the potential QTA deal this year and the one in 2014 is that after a significant increase in commercial revenue at Parc des Princes, the contract would now only represent a third of the entire budget -- previously that percentage was much higher.

PSG's initial contract with QTA, which was downsized by UEFA two years ago, expired in June of this year.

The new deal is due to be submitted to UEFA in October and because of the impressive growth of the club's brand over the past few years, its sponsorship deals have taken on higher value.

PSG announced that one such contract, with clothing brand Hugo Boss, was extended on Tuesday until the end of the 2017-18 season.
