Serge Aurier meets PSG director of sport and HR, awaits punishment

Suspended Paris Saint-Germain defender Serge Aurier is waiting to hear if he will face any further punishment from the Ligue 1 leaders after attending a meeting to discuss comments he made on social media.

Aurier was indefinitely suspended last week after making disparaging remarks about PSG coach Laurent Blanc and some of his teammates ahead of their Champions League meeting with Chelsea.

The 23-year-old right-back later apologised for the comments he made during a live question-and-answer session on Periscope, but was nevertheless summoned to face club officials, who he met on Monday morning.

A PSG statement confirmed the meeting had taken place and said a decision on Aurier would be made within the "statutory deadline.''

The statement read: "At 11am, Serge Aurier was received at Paris St Germain's headquarters by director of sport Olivier Letang and human resources.

"The PSG player answered the management's questions pertaining to the comments made on a social network on the night of February 13 to 14, remarks which have been condemned by the club and which have seen him immediately summoned to a disciplinary interview and suspended as a precaution.

"Following this interview, the PSG directors will notify the player of their decision within the statutory deadline. Before that date, the club will not discuss this issue.''
