PSG win vs. Lyon good preparation for upcoming Chelsea test - Aurier

Paris Saint-Germain full-back Serge Aurier has said that their comprehensive Coupe de France win over Lyon shows the team are prepared and on track for next week's Champions League clash with Chelsea.

The cup holders took their time to get going on Wednesday, but two second-half goals from Zlatan Ibrahimovic helped them to a 3-0 victory at the Parc des Princes.

Aurier, 23, set up Ibrahimovic's second goal before Adrien Rabiot added the third with 15 minutes to play to set up a quarterfinal date with Saint-Etienne.

Aurier was injured for last season's European tie with Chelsea, which PSG won on away goals after the last 16 meeting finished 3-3 on aggregate.

The Ivorian international was then suspended for three matches by UEFA for insulting the referee in the second leg of that tie in a video he posted on his Instagram account.

Aurier is hoping to make a more positive impact next Tuesday, when PSG host Chelsea in the first leg of their last-16 meeting in this season's competition.

"Everyone thought our minds were on Chelsea but you didn't see that too much this evening," Aurier told reporters after the win over Lyon.

"Everyone did things at 100 percent. The most important thing is to continue to win -- to take confidence.

"Some important dates are coming up. We're showing some satisfying signs -- we have to continue."

Next up in PSG's tight schedule of matches is a Ligue 1 fixture against Lille at the Parc des Princes on Saturday.

Laurent Blanc's side have a 24-point cushion at the top of the table but Aurier wants them to put in another complete performance.

"We want to continue to win matches," he said. "I don't think we'll let go of this match in anticipation of Chelsea.

"We're trying to be professional and solid. It's going to be difficult. The best way to prepare for Chelsea is to win against Lille."
