Paris Saint-Germain winger Angel Di Maria says he will not be using memories of his "sad" spell at Manchester United as motivation for this month's Champions League meeting with Chelsea.
Di Maria, 27, scored four goals in 32 appearances in his one season at United before joining PSG in a €63 million move last summer.
The Argentina international has thrived since leaving for France, scoring eight goals and creating 10 more in 18 appearances in Ligue 1, as well as getting on the score sheet three times in the group stages of the Champions League.
PSG host Chelsea in the first leg of their Champions League round-of- 16 tie on Feb. 16, and Di Maria says he will not be thinking about his unfortunate experience in the Premier League when he lines up against the reigning English champions.
"No," he told L'Equipe. "Manchester United was a sad experience. Things didn't go as I had hoped, I was disappointed and it didn't help me to rise to the surface.
"Honestly, I don't even remember anymore what happened and I don't want to remember. I'm happy to be here and that's the most important thing."
PSG coach Laurent Blanc said last month that life in France suits Di Maria and backed him to be even better in the second half of the season.
The former Real Madrid player admits that he found it tough to first get going at the French champions. His statistics are impressive now but he knows his season will be judged on how far PSG go in Europe.
"My last season at Real was very good too -- it's in the same vein," Di Maria said of his current form. "Every day here I feel better and better integrated into the team, the club and the city and that's reflected in my performances.
"But I know that the two matches to come against Chelsea will determine a lot of things. Everyone sees us as the favourites. We don't see it that way. It's Chelsea -- they have a quality squad and players that every club in Europe would want to have."
Di Maria said that PSG will have to produce the kind of performance they did away to Madrid in the group stages -- a match they lost 1-0 despite dominating for long spells.
"We're facing another great team," he said. "We'll try to do what we did at the Bernabeu, to play as equals while hoping to have the success in front of goal that avoided us in Madrid."
