PSG to discuss Zlatan Ibrahimovic's future in February -- Nasser Al Khelaifi

PSG will hold talks with Zlatan Ibrahimovic in February to discuss the star striker's future at the club, president Nasser Al Khelaifi has revealed.

Ibrahimovic, 34, is out of contract at the end of the current campaign, and he has already been linked with a host of clubs.

The Swedish international has not ruled out staying in Paris, however, and Al Khelaifi said last month that the club were open to discussing the possibility of offering their record scorer a new deal.

In an interview with France's Le Figaro, Al Khelaifi revealed those talks will begin once the upcoming winter transfer window has closed.

"I have huge respect for Zlatan as a player. He's always remained extremely professional," Al Khelaifi said. "We will never forget what he has done for PSG. The fans will never forget him."

"He loves Paris and he loves PSG. Every match makes him happy like he's 16 years old. He never wants to leave the pitch -- that proves his motivation for the project. He's given all his heart for the club.

"We'll discuss his future in February, about what he wants to do. He knows that I will always support him."

Earlier this month, PSG boss Laurent Blanc described Ibrahimovic's PSG fate as "a big question mark," adding that he hadn't any idea whether the former Barcelona and Ajax man would extend his stay with the three-time defending Ligue 1 champions.

"That's the big question; it's a big question mark," Blanc said. "A lot of people will have to give their opinion, and I'll certainly be one of them.

"But when a player is coming to the end of his contract, it's above all what the player wants to do that's important."

"So it's necessary to put that question to Ibra," Blanc continued. "We'll have to see if he wants to continue the adventure here in Paris -- if the club is in a position to offer him an extension.

"I think we'll have a little time to do that even if you [the media] will be informed, maybe even before me. But for the moment it's not the main talking point because we're still in the middle of the league."

Al Khelaifi also addressed the future of the PSG manager, who led the club to the domestic treble after sweeping to Ligue 1, Coupe de France and Coupe de la Ligue titles last campaign.

"He's very happy in Paris; we're very happy with him," Al Khelaifi said. "He wants to stay, we want him to stay. I think there will not be a problem extending his contract and I'm convinced we'll come to an agreement. We're in the middle of discussing it.

"Against Saint-Etienne [on Wednesday] he won his 100th match with Paris Saint-Germain. I hope he will win 200 games with us."
