Paris Saint-Germain can emulate Arsenal 'Invincibles' - Jens Lehmann

Jens Lehmann has told France Football he believes Paris Saint-Germain can follow the Arsenal "Invincibles" by going through a 38-game league season without defeat.

Lehmann, who kept goal for the Gunners as they went unbeaten throughout the 2003-04 season, said the defending French champions had all the hallmarks of a side that could do the same.

PSG are already 13 points clear after 14 matches, and earlier this month midfielder Lucas Moura said they could go through the season without losing a domestic game.

Former Germany goalkeeper Lehmann, 46, said; "They have the means and the potential [to achieve that]. Given their economic power, I'd even say that they should do it.

"But I also see Bayern [Munich] becoming [German] champions by staying unbeaten, since they've been playing at an exceptional level for several months."

Lehmann played every league game for Arsenal in the 2003-04 campaign, conceding only 26 goals as they won the Premier League -- their most recent league title to date.

He recalled: "We played a quicker game than most of today's teams -- notably quicker than Arsenal's team this season -- because we had extremely fast players in attack.

"We were also lucky never to have any injured players. For example Thierry Henry, who was our leading player, was never out of action."

Arsenal's unbeaten league run extended to 49 matches before they lost 2-0 to Manchester United at Old Trafford in October the following season.
