Ibrahimovic: Bad decisions cost me Champions League at Barcelona

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has launched an attack on former club Barcelona just as the Paris Saint-Germain star prepares to renew acquaintances with the Catalan club in the Champions League.

- Tomas: Neymar shining thanks to Messi connection

Ibrahimovic will miss Tuesday's group-stage clash between the two clubs at the Parc des Princes with a heel injury that has forced him out of the French champions' last two league games.

The Sweden international spent a tumultuous 2009-10 campaign with the Liga giants, during which the team stumbled in the semifinals to eventual winners Inter Milan, the team Ibrahimovic had left only the previous summer.

The icy relationship between Ibrahimovic and then-Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola is well-documented, and the PSG striker hinted to Canal+ he would have had that thus-far elusive Champions League winner's medal but for the current Bayern Munich boss' decisions -- two of which were to replace the Swedish star just after the hour mark in both legs against Inter.

"We had the best team in the world, that's for certain," Ibrahimovic said. "But we failed in our quest for the Champions League because of the bad decisions of certain people."

As well as missing Ibrahimovic, PSG will also be without centre-back and club captain Thiago Silva on Tuesday.

The Brazil captain, 30, remains sidelined as a result of a hamstring injury sustained in a friendly with Napoli in early August. In his stead, Marquinhos will continue to partner David Luiz in central defence as PSG look to improve their stuttering recent form.

Though unbeaten 10 competitive games into the season, Laurent Blanc's side have won just once in their last five outings in all competitions, and were pegged back to only draw at Ajax in their opening Group F fixture.

By contrast, Barcelona have recorded an impressive six victories and a draw in their opening seven encounters of the season, and star forward pairing Lionel Messi and Neymar already have 11 goals to their names this season, including five of the six Barca struck against Granada last weekend.

Luiz, 27, is likely to have his hands full with the in-form duo, but told Le Parisien that PSG must not focus all their efforts on stopping the South American duo.

"It's a huge pleasure to play against such big stars, to play in such games. You become a footballer to experience moments such as this," the former Benfica and Chelsea man said.

"But there's not only Messi and Neymar, there are others who can make the difference at any moment in time. We need to have an intelligent gameplan and be at a very high level."
