FFP affects PSG transfer plans - Blanc

Laurent Blanc has admitted UEFA's Financial Fair Play sanctions are hampering Paris Saint-Germain's squad-building plans, while they could yet scupper the French champions' move for Angel Di Maria.

Following the 50 million-euro capture of David Luiz before the World Cup, PSG announced the arrival of their second summer signing with Serge Aurier, 21, completing a move to the Parc des Princes on Wednesday.

The Ivory Coast full-back arrives initially on a season-long loan from Toulouse with an automatic 9.5 million-euro purchase option triggered at the end of the season, an unusual step taken to help PSG counter the restrictions imposed upon them by UEFA for having transgressed FFP regulations.

"We don't do what we want, you know that as well as I do," Blanc, 48, told media. "If we announce that formula, it's because there's a reason.

"Financial fair play hampers us, but it hasn't stopped us bringing in two important players, David Luiz and Serge Aurier. But it's true that we don't do what we want, we knew that."#INSERT type:inline END#

While UEFA had said the Ligue 1 club were able to sign one player of 60 million euros this summer, European football's governing body also told the club from the French capital they would have to reduce their wage bill.

Though Alex and Jeremy Menez left the Parc des Princes when their contracts expired in June, the additions of Luiz and Aurier mean further arrivals have to be carefully managed -- and that could pose a problem in signing Di Maria.

According to RMC, the 26-year-old has told PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi he would rather move to PSG than the Premier League, with the reported eight million euro annual salary appealing to the Argentina international.

However, with Real Madrid having spent 90 million euros on James Rodriguez, the Champions League holders may not be as happy as Toulouse to wait for the money they would receive for Di Maria, who would cost PSG an estimated 60 million euros.

"The player has given his agreement to move to Paris," an unnamed source close to PSG was cited as saying by RMC. "He has told that to the Paris president, but he asked for the situation to be sorted out quickly. The only uncertainty is there: is that wait going to make him choose another club?"#INSERT type:inline END#
