PAOK Salonika sack Igor Tudor, appoint Vladimir Ivic as successor

PAOK Salonika have fired coach Igor Tudor and replaced him with youth-team coach Vladimir Ivic.

Tudor, a former Croatia international, arrived at PAOK last summer, signing a three-year deal with the club.

However, the Greek side confirmed in a statement on Wednesday that the 37-year-old has been dismissed due to "unsuccessful results" -- which have seen them slip to fourth in the Greek Super League, 29 points off the top.

The statement also said that another reason for Tudor's removal was that he had made "derogatory comments regarding the team's quality."

In a recent news conference, the ex-Juventus defender unfavourably compared key PAOK players with their opposite numbers at Olympiakos -- the Greek Super League leaders.

Ivic, a former PAOK player, has been placed in charge of the senior team until the end of the season.
