MSL: Pahang captain Razman would accept away point at Selangor

Pahang captain Mohd Razman Roslan says that while the Malaysia Super League leaders were disappointed with last Saturday's 1-1 draw against defending champions Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT), they would be satisfied with a point for their next match.

The Elephants travel to the Shah Alam Stadium to face in-form Selangor this weekend, with Mehmet Durakovic's side now within striking distance of the top of the table.

Selangor are third on 24 points behind Pahang (27) and JDT (25) after 13 rounds of the season.

"The motivation when you are on top is different," Razman told The Star. "We all are fired up to stay as leaders but Selangor won't be easy opponents because they are on a winning run now.

"It will be perfect if we can get a point from Selangor because of their current form. It will be a bonus for us if we manage to spring an upset."

But Razman said that a point against JDT was a less than satisfactory return because they were playing in front of their home fans in Kuantan.

"I'm disappointed that we failed to win at home. We should have collected full points as now the other teams have closed the gap," he added.

"We failed to defend the FA Cup this season after crashing out in the semifinals so we need to win the Super League to play in next year's AFC Cup ... there's no other option for us now."

On Saturday, JDT went ahead through substitute Mohd Amri Yahyah in the 67th minute before a Dickson Nwakaeme equaliser in the 71st minute.

"We showed fighting spirit to get back into the game to get the equaliser after JDT went ahead. We now need to make sure we stay on top," said Razman.
