Norway's Martin Odegaard, 15, makes European Championship history

Martin Odegaard became the youngest player to appear in a European Championship qualifier when he came on as a second-half substitute for Norway in Monday's 2-1 win over Bulgaria.

Odegaard, aged 15 years and 300 days, replaced Mats Moller Daehli in the 64th minute to a huge ovation from the home crowd. He broke a 31-year-old record held by Iceland's Siggi Jonsson, who was 16 years and 251 days when he made his qualifying debut against Malta in 1983.

Martin Odegaard tipped for greatness by Morten Gamst Pedersen

15-year-old Martin Odegaard says it will be a dream come true to make his international debut for Norway but is determined to let his football rather than his age do the talking.

Morten Gamst Pedersen says reported Manchester United target Martin Odegaard has more potential than any young player he has ever seen.

The teenage sensation, who became the youngest player to represent Norway last week at the age of 15 years and 253 days, reportedly attracted interest from a number of top clubs during the transfer window.

Norway face England in a friendly on Wednesday but Odegaard will not feature at Wembley as he has been selected for the under-21 side.

Norway call up teen for UAE friendly

Martin Odegaard, 15, has become Norway's youngest player ever in the national football team.

OSLO, Norway -- A 15-year-old has been selected by Norway for their upcoming friendly against the United Arab Emirates on Aug. 27, making him the youngest-ever player to be called into the squad.

Martin Odegaard, a midfielder with Norwegian club Stromsgodset, says "it is huge" to play for a team that he has watched on television.

Born Dec. 17, 1998, Odegaard has already represented the under-17 side, including appearances against the United States, France and Scotland.

Cardiff sign Norway international Daehli

New Cardiff manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made his second signing as Bluebirds boss, bringing in Norway international midfielder Mats Moller Daehli from his former club Molde.

Daehli, 18, follows fellow ex-Manchester United reserve Magnus Wolff Eikrem to the Cardiff City Stadium. Both were managed by Solskjaer during his spell in charge of the Old Trafford second string.
