Seven-time Nigeria league champions Enyimba outclassed an inexperienced Go Round FC 2-0 in a rescheduled NPFL game in Calabar on Wednesday.

Second-half strikes from forwards Joseph Osadiaye and Abdulrahman Bashir moved the People's Elephant into sixth on 26 points, seven off leaders Lobi Stars having played a game fewer.

Go Round FC earned a first away point at the weekend in Ilorin, and threatened to build on that early on when Chinonso Udeh's 20-yard free kick hit the underside of the woodwork with Ikechukwu Ezenwa rooted to the spot.

Okon Otop somehow failed to put Go Round in the lead when he missed from six yards out with half-time approaching.

Enyimba made the wasteful visitors pay with two clinical goals from Osadiaye and Bashir in the 51st and 63rd minutes, with Ibrahim Mustapha assisting on the second strike.

The loss, which leaves Go Round winless in their last five games, keeps them in 18th on the table, while Enyimba, by contrast, are unbeaten in five.

The CAF Confederation Cup contenders also extend their strong defensive record at home.

Enyimba continue their domestic campaign at home against fifth-placed Akwa United on Sunday.
