Lobi's unbeaten record on the line, Enyimba target first win

Lobi Stars, the only unbeaten team in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), face a gruelling midweek away trip to Damaturu, while sleeping giants Enyimba aim for a first league win at home on match day four.

Enugu Rangers vs. Katsina United

Enugu Rangers, buoyed by their Oriental derby away win at the weekend, are home to Katsina United on Wednesday afternoon.

The Flying Antelopes haven't had any joy on home turf this season, losing their solitary game to Lobi Stars. They face a Katsina United side who have the joint-best attack in the league -- together with Kano Pillars and FC Ifeanyi Ubah -- and must tighten things at the back, or else they could sink further below their 16th position.

Enyimba vs. Nasarawa United

Enyimba, 19th on the league table, are experiencing a dreadful start to the league season. The People's Elephant are winless and have scored just the solitary goal through Chinedu Udeagha on match day three.

They take on a Nasarawa United team who earned a first win of the season at the weekend, but the big question remains if they can bag an away result.

Coach Paul Aigbogun has to work his magic starting with this home tie, as Enyimba aren't known to be on the wrong end of the table.

Kano Pillars vs Abia Warriors

Kano Pillars must feel pretty confident ahead of their home game against Abia Warriors at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano.

Sixth-place Abia Warriors make a second trip in a week to the far north and could have little hope of improving on their earlier away loss in Maiduguri.

Given the red-hot form of Junior Lokosa -- scorer of three goals in successive league matches -- we can expect the in-form forward to extend his streak and improve Pillars' mid-table position.

MFM FC vs. FC Ifeanyi Ubah

Struggling MFM FC host an FC Ifeanyi Ubah team currently fourth on the log, in a game involving clubs at both ends of the table. The away team started the season quietly without any major star signings, and has rather built on positives from last season with Godwin Obaje -- joint league top scorer with three goals -- one such example.

Considering the squad depth and inexperience of the MFM team, and the number of games played within a short period, fatigue and inconsistency could begin to set in. This is a major concern as they face the Herculean task of climbing out of the bottom-four pit.

Plateau United vs. El-Kanemi Warriors

Plateau United are involved in a tricky home game against El-Kanemi Warriors.

Both teams are level on points, with El-Kanemi two spots above in fourth place, following a first defeat suffered by the champions at the weekend.

A big home win for Plateau United, possibly aided by Tosin Omoyele's first goals of the season, could have the champions end in first place.

Yobe Desert Stars vs. Lobi Stars

League leaders Lobi Stars are away to newly promoted Yobe Desert Stars as they aim to preserve the division's only unbeaten record.

Expectedly, Yobe Stars have struggled on the road, and it does appear their insurance policy for top-flight survival is to ensure they win as many games as possible at home.

That could be an interesting task for the Mohammed Babaganaru-coached team, as they face a Lobi side that emerged victorious away in Enugu, and can rely on Samad Kadiri who is gunning for his third successive league goal.
