CHAMPIONSHIP Ola Aina and his Hull City teammates handed new manager Nigel Adkins a winning start to his managerial reign at the KCOM Stadium, defeating Brentford 3-2. The versatile defender was utilised on the right side of an attacking-midfield three behind a central striker, and was booked in the second half. ITALY Orji Okonkwo was a 73rd-minute substitute for Bologna in a 2-1 defeat at AC Milan. GERMANY Victor Osimhen was a 90th-minute substitute for Wolfsburg in a 0-0 draw against Hamburg, while teammate Felix Uduokhai played the full game. NETHERLANDS Bartholomew Ogbeche scored for a fourth successive league game for Willem II who were held to a 1-1 draw at home to NAC Breda. Tyronne Ebuehi was back after serving a one-match ban in the ADO Den Haag lineup in a 3-2 away win against FC Twente. Kelechi Nwakali was in action for 67 minutes of VVV-Venlo's entertaining 2-2 draw away to SC Heerenveen. BELGIUM Uche Agbo was on the losing side when Standard Liege lost 3-1 away to Waasland-Beveren, while Joseph Akpala was a second-half substitute for Oostende who lost 1-0 at home to KV Mechelen. Taiwo Awoniyi could not find any success leading the Royal Excel Mouscron attack as they were defeated 1-0 against Royal Antwerp. Moses Simon and Simon Kalu both made the Gent starting lineup and were subbed in the second half of a 2-1 loss against Kortrijk who boasted Abdul Ajagun. Elsewhere, Dennis Bonaventure was introduced in the 73rd minute of Club Brugge's 3-1 home victory against Lokeren. TURKEY William Troost-Ekong was back in the Bursaspor defence, but he could not prevent a 1-0 home defeat to Fenerbahce. Kenneth Omeruo, Samuel Eduok and Ogenyi Onazi all made the starting line-ups of their respective teams, Kasimpasa and Trabzonspor which ended 3-0 in favour of the Black Sea Storm. Azubuike Okechukwu and Sincere Seth both featured for Yeni Malatyaspor in a 3-2 home defeat by Goztepe. Okechukwu lasted the distance, while Seth was a second-half substitute. Raheem Lawal was in action for 79 minutes, while Aminu Umar failed to get any game time for Osmanlispor who triumphed 3-0 at home to Alanyaspor. CYPRUS Abdullahi Shehu played the entire match for Anorthosis who came from behind to earn a 2-1 home win against Alki Oroklinis. RUSSIA Brian Idowu and Fegor Ogude were both on the losing side for Amkar who lost 3-1 at home to FC Krasnodar. Aaron Samuel was an unused substitute for CSKA Moscow who suffered a 3-0 defeat against Spartak Moscow in the Moscow derby. Sylvester Igboun played the full match and was yellow carded on the dot of regulation time for FC Ufa who lost 1-0 against FC Rostov.
