Former Nigeria coach Shuaibu Amodu has died at the age of 58 -- three days after the death of fellow ex-Super Eagles boss Stephen Keshi.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) confirmed the news on Saturday, stating that Amodu died in his sleep on Friday night after having complained of chest pains.
"He went to sleep and he could not wake up," NFF secretary general Dr. Mohammed Sanusi is quoted as saying by SuperSport.
Amodu, a four-time coach of Nigeria's national team, was the NFF's technical director -- a role he had held since 2013.

During his time as Nigeria coach, he guided the Super Eagles to the 2002 and 2010 World Cups, though he was sacked ahead of both tournaments despite leading the side to third-place finishes at the 2002 and 2010 African Nations Cups.
Amodu also managed a number of clubs in Nigeria, including BCC Lions, as well as taking charge of South African side Orlando Pirates.
Amodu's death comes as the nation is still mourning the loss of Keshi, who died at the age of 54 on Wednesday after suffering a cardiac arrest.
Keshi had led Nigeria to the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations title, before guiding them to the second round of the 2014 World Cup.
Amodu and Keshi worked together as Nigeria coach and assistant coach respectively at the 2002 African Nations Cup.
