Cote d'Ivoire midfielder Jean Seri has disappointed his reported transfer suitors by confirming that he isn't interested in moving away from OGC Nice this summer.

Seri has been one of the key protagonists in Les Aiglons' unexpected title campaign this season, contributing a league high nine assists as Lucien Favre's side have secured qualification for the Champions League for the first time.

His excellent form has prompted reported interest from Leicester City and Southampton according to RMC [as per Foot sur 7], although the 25-year-old revealed in an interview with Nice-Matin [via Sport365] this weekend that he isn't interested in leaving the Allianz Riviera anytime soon.

"Leaving this summer? No," he began, categorically. "I've had a satisfying first season and now I need to confirm it.

"Wanting to leave when you've had a good season is not what top players do," he continued. "You need to repeat it across several consecutive seasons."

Operating as a deep-lying playmaker, Seri has been a model of consistency for Nice this season, creating numerous chances for the likes of Mario Balotelli, Wylan Cyprien and Younes Belhanda, and even helping the south-coast side keep their momentum despite being ravaged by injuries in recent weeks and months.

He stuttered on Sunday, however, picking up a booking as Nice's title charge faltered when they were held 1-1 at Toulouse, a result that leaves them six points off leaders AS Monaco having played a game more.

"There's no reason for me to think about leaving," he added. "I'm good here, and I'm enjoying myself.

"To leave for the sake of leaving, it doesn't interest me. The club is growing, a new centre-forward is coming and there are still many beautiful things to experience here."

Indeed, Seri is primed to compete in the Champions League for the first time next season after Nice secured a top three finish in Ligue 1, although he'll be hoping to give a better account of himself than he managed
