Nice will stay grounded despite surprising Ligue 1 lead - Lucien Favre

Nice coach Lucien Favre insists his side are not getting carried away after they moved four points clear at the top of Ligue 1.

Nice's 2-0 win at home to Lyon, coupled with Monaco's 3-1 loss at Toulouse, saw Favre's team strengthen their position at the top of the standings.

Paul Baysse's sixth-minute goal and Jean Michael Seri's 77th-minute effort earned the unbeaten hosts their seventh win in nine league games this season against a side who played for more than an hour with 10 men, Nabil Fekir seeing red after 29 minutes.

Favre was quoted as saying by L'Equipe: "We are enjoying it, but we are maintaining our philosophy of taking things match by match.

"Nice are the only undefeated team which is good but no more. The championship is very long. It is good we are first and we have started the competition well, but we must keep working."

In-form Mario Balotelli had a chance to score a third for Nice, but his penalty was saved by Anthony Lopes.

The goalkeeper said on the Lyon website: "We had a lack of focus early in the game.

"We must get back to work. It will be tough and we have to quickly recover."
