Necaxa beats New York City FC 2-1 in international break friendly

Liga MX side Necaxa beat Major League Soccer's New York City FC 2-1 in a friendly over the international break on Friday night at the Estadio Victoria.

The hosts went up in the 24th minute thanks to a Jesus Isijara goal and doubled their lead in the in 79th minute when Rodrigo Prieto tapped home from close range.

Kyle Parker, who plays for NYCFC's USL affiliate Wilmington Hammerheads FC, clawed one back in the 83rd minute after Diego Martinez played him in on goal.

NYCFC used an experimental side that featured former U.S. national team player Mix Diskerud in the friendly as it prepares for the MLS postseason.

Patrick Vieira's team are a lock for the MLS playoffs, sitting second in the league table, while Necaxa sit in the final Liga MX liguilla spot.
