New York City FC on Wednesday said the club will break ground on a new training facility located on a 17-acre site in Orangeburg, New York, in Rockland County.

The plans include one and a half regulation-sized grass fields, as well as a 25,000 square foot building for team offices and other amenities.

Sporting director Claudio Reyna told NYCFC.com: "Our new elite training facility in Orangeburg is a significant step forward in the evolution of our Club, marking our first permanent home for the team."

The facility will be designed by Rafael Vinoly, the architect responsible for Manchester City FC and Melbourne City FC's academy facilities, and is due to be completed in early 2018.
