New England Revolution's Kelyn Rowe out 6-8 weeks with knee sprain

New England Revolution midfielder Kelyn Rowe will be sidelined for 6-8 weeks due to a right knee sprain, the team announced on Wednesday.

Rowe was injured in the waning moments of New England's 2-1 loss to New York City FC last weekend.

The most optimistic appraisal of his injury would see him recover in time for the Revs' home match against Atlanta United on Sept. 30. A more likely outcome will see Rowe return for the Oct. 15 game against NYCFC.

Rowe is in his sixth season with New England, having scored 28 goals to go along with 40 assists in 186 league and playoff appearances.

The UCLA product recently made his debut with the U.S. national team back on July 1 in a 2-1 defeat of Ghana.

In all, he's made three appearances for the U.S., scoring one goal in a 3-0 defeat of Nicaragua at the Gold Cup.
