BOSTON -- The New England Revolution have brought in Goldman Sachs to help put together the financing for a soccer-only stadium in Boston, according to a report.
The Boston Globe reported that the Major League Soccer team has been working with the New York investment firm since at least December.
The newspaper said it obtained documents obtained through a public records request that noted Goldman Sachs' intentions of serving as an "underwriter on a future transaction."
The Revolution have shared a 65,000-seat stadium with the NFL's New England Patriots, who are also owned by Robert Kraft, since joining MLS as a charter member in 1996. But as the league has expanded, it has preferred soccer-specific stadiums with a capacity closer to 30,000.
The Revolution have floated several attempts for their own stadium, so far with no success.
A spokeswoman for the Revolution did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
